Day 1 - Arrive in Santa Fe via
Albuquerque
Fly from home city to Albuquerque.
Take the Sandia Shuttle Service to
Santa Fe. Transfer from the airport
to the historic Hotel La Fonda, located
on the historic plaza in Santa Fe.
There will be time to relax and get
accustomed to the high altitude. Enjoy
a welcome dinner where you will meet
your AAA Sojourns escort and fellow
members of your group.

Day 2 - Tour of Santa Fe
Enjoy a walking tour of Santa Fe with
an experienced local guide. See the
many wonderful historic and cultural
sights, including the Palace of the
Governors, St. Francis Cathedral,
and an inside visit of the Loretto
Chapel with its miraculous staircase.
Next, walk to the Georgia O'Keeffe
Museum where you will enjoy a private
docent-lead tour. Following lunch
at a local restaurant, visit some
of the wonderful galleries including
the famous “Chuck Jones” Gallery.
See exquisite jewelry, cutting-edge
painting and the best of Southwest
art. The remainder of the afternoon
and evening is free.
Day 3 - Bandelier National Monument & Chimayo
Enjoy an all-day tour visiting Indian
and Spanish settlements. First stop
is Bandelier National Monument in
the Jemez Mountains, an unforgettable
site that reveals 2,000 years of
human history, including the ancient
pueblo in Frijoles Canyon where visitors
can view actual cliff dwellings and
structural remnants on the canyon
floor.
Next, travel to the 17th-century village
of Chimayo, where weavers have produced
the colorful and decorative Rio Grande
textiles for centuries. After lunch
at the famous Rancho de Chimayo, visit
Centinela Weavers at their farm near
Chimayo. They will show examples of
their craft and explain the many intricacies
of New Mexican weaving. Conclude the
day with a visit to Santuario de Chimayo
- a centuries-old, tiny mission church
known as the “Lourdes” of new Mexico.

Day 4 - Santa Fe School of Cooking
A morning cooking class is included
at the Santa Fe School of Cooking.
Located just steps from the historic
Plaza, the Santa Fe School of Cooking
is an internationally acclaimed culinary
school specializing in foods of the
southwest. Enjoy lunch featuring
the dishes prepared in the class
and receive their recipes. After
lunch, enjoy the Behind Adobe
Walls tour with the Santa Fe
Home & Garden Club. This exclusive
tour will take you inside some of
Santa Fe's finest homes and gardens
selected for their special Santa
Fe style. Return to Santa Fe and
enjoy a Farewell Dinner at a local
favorite restaurant.
Day 5 - Depart Santa Fe
Breakfast at your hotel. Morning is
free for additional sightseeing or
last minute shopping. Transfer by
shuttle from Santa Fe to the Albuquerque
International Airport for your flight
home or extend your stay in Santa
Fe
