FREE CARFIT EVENT FOR MATURE DRIVERS OFFERED SATURDAY

WHAT:        Free check-up for mature drivers, sitting in their own cars. Trained professionals will lead motorists through a 15-minute, 12-point checklist and recommend adjustments and adaptations that can make the vehicle “fit” better and enhance safety, such as seat belt, headrest and mirror adjustments. Information on local resources will be provided and an occupational therapist will be on site to provide information on adapting cars to individual driving profiles. Names of participants in this CarFit program are kept confidential.

Actual driving skills will not be evaluated.
  
WHY:          The goal is to keep mature motorists driving as safely as possible for as long as possible. 

WHO:          CarFit is a free program for licensed drivers age 65 and older who own a registered vehicle and who wish to learn how to adjust their vehicle so that they may become safer drivers. 

WHEN:        Saturday, Oct. 29 – from 9 a.m. to noon. Drive-ups are welcome.
                  
WHERE:      Norman Police Dept. parking lot – 201-B W. Gray St., in Norman.
