AAA To Host Tulsa CarFit Event December 2nd

News from AAA Oklahoma, November 29 – AAA is hosting a CarFit event for mature drivers at the AAA office located at 10051 South Yale Avenue in Tulsa. The event will take place December 2 from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This program is free and open to the public, AAA membership is not required.

CarFit is a program designed to help older drivers utilize their vehicle’s safety equipment to the maximum potential. Each driver is checked with a 12-point CarFit check list, that looks at key areas that will not only allow the driver to leave the event driving safer, but also driving more comfortably. Areas that are looked at include the seat belt, head restraint, whether the driver can reach the gas and brake pedals, and does the driver know where his or her blind spots are.

Each driver will be assessed by a qualified CarFit technician and the evaluation takes less than 20 minutes to complete.

The sponsor of the CarFit event is AAA Oklahoma. CarFit was developed by the American Society on Aging in partnership with AAA, AARP and the American Occupational Therapy Assn.
