AAA Announces Oklahoma’s Best Hotels and Restaurants
NEWS from AAA Oklahoma, March 7 – AAA Oklahoma has announced the list of the top hotels and restaurants in Oklahoma for 2011. Four hotels and two restaurants qualified to win AAA’s prestigious Four Diamond Award this year:
- The Waterford Marriott Hotel, Oklahoma City – 15 consecutive years
- The Polo Grill, Tulsa – 11 years
- The Coach House, Oklahoma City – 11 years
- The Renaissance Oklahoma City Hotel and Convention Center – 9 years
- The Renaissance Tulsa Hotel and Convention Center – 8 years
- The Skirvin Hilton Hotel, Oklahoma City – 4 years
Collectively, Four Diamond establishments represent just 3.6 percent of the current 59,000 AAA approved and diamond rated establishments in the U.S. and Canada.
“Earning AAA’s Four Diamond Award is not easy,” said Chuck Mai, spokesman for AAA Oklahoma. “But keeping those four diamonds is even harder. We are thrilled these six properties have made the commitment necessary to win and keep winning this coveted honor. It marks these hotels and restaurants as the very best in Oklahoma.”
AAA defines a Four Diamond property as establishments that “are upscale in all areas. Accommodations are progressively more refined and stylish. The physical attributes reflect an obvious enhanced level of quality throughout. The fundamental hallmarks at this level include an extensive array of amenities combined with a high degree of hospitality, service, and attention to detail.”
Diamond ratings appear in AAA TourBook travel guides and on the club’s Web site, www.AAA.com. AAA rates more properties than any other rating entity and is one of only two that conduct physical, on-site evaluations. AAA Approved lodgings and restaurants are assigned a rating of One to Five Diamonds. It is the only system that uses full-time, professionally trained evaluators to inspect each property on an annual basis.
