AAA and Tauck Offer Exclusive Departure of Bridges Family Adventure

There are countless advantages to being a AAA member, but some of the most special are those that provide exclusive benefits to your entire family. One such member benefit is on tap for AAA families this summer, when AAA joins with preferred travel partner Tauck World Discovery on a very special  members-only departure of its “Red Rocks & Painted Canyons” family adventure. Part of Tauck’s collection of Bridges escorted family trips, “Red Rocks & Painted Canyons” provides a fun, fascinating, and family friendly exploration of the stunning landscapes of Arizona, Utah, and Nevada.

This in-depth, eight-day adventure begins in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Aug. 1, 2008, and visits some of the southwest’s most iconic national treasures, including the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, and Zion National Park. Along the way, AAA families visit the fascinating cliff dwellings at Montezuma Castle National Monument, experience sunrise over the Grand Canyon, and explore the picturesque small town of Kanab, Utah, where more than 100 cowboy movies and TV shows have been filmed.

The region’s stunning topography can be experienced from a variety of perspectives. Bridges travelers will get a close-up view of the Grand Canyon (over one mile deep and 277 miles long) from its eastern rim. They’ll experience stunning landscapes from the air during a flight-seeing trip over Lake Powell to Rainbow Bridge, savor a raft trip through the heart of Glen Canyon on the Colorado River, and have their choice of a boat trip on Lake Powell or a 4-wheel-drive trek into Antelope Canyon. And, they’ll also see the region as early explorers did, from horseback during a trail ride in Bryce Canyon, and on foot during a hike in Zion National Park.

As AAA members, travelers on the Aug. 1, 2008, trip will also be treated to a free aerial sightseeing excursion to Monument Valley. The complimentary Monument Valley experience, which normally costs $180 per person, includes a tour with a Navajo guide through an inspiring landscape of buttes, mesas, and spires. For even greater savings, AAA members are also eligible to save $50 per person on their pre- and post-tour airfare when it’s booked through Tauck.

Included in the price of the special AAA/Tauck Bridges journey are accommodations at deluxe hotels, and at hard-to-get, “in the Park” lodges inside Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, and Zion National Parks. Also included are most meals, admission to all sites and attractions, all gratuities, entertainment, and more.

Tauck offers over a dozen family friendly itineraries in its Bridges collection, including in-depth explorations in North America, Latin America, Europe, and Africa. Each itinerary emphasizes shared discovery and shared enrichment, as families experience the wonders of travel together while building bonds — or bridges — between generations and between cultures.

Price for the special Aug. 1, 2008, AAA departure of “Red Rocks & Painted Canyons” is from $2,350 plus air. For more information, contact your AAA Travel agent or visit www.AAA.com.
